Styling your family photo session is the first step to fabulous portraits. If it isn’t your forte we are here to help. We believe it is SO important in fact, that we always schedule a consultation to discuss all the little details including clothing and color. Fortunately in Newport Beach, weather usually isn't an issue, and since we don’t observes the “No white after Labor Day” rule, the options are wide open! An important consideration is the style and color palette of your home? Since, in the end, the goal is to display beautiful artwork on your walls, it is very important to create a color scheme with clothing and the location that are in keeping with your personal style. Many of our clients live by the beach with variations of coastal interiors. It is all about those turquoise and blue hues! Here are some examples of styles and palettes that work well for a "coastal chic" look.

In our last blog post we focused on fall, with a more rustic look, follow the link to see the different autumn looks:

Inspiration can come from anywhere. Something as simple as a linen throw or a beautiful accessory can set the tone for the color story that speaks to your style. We often look to Hollywood icons for inspiration, Grace Kelly is a favorite for her elegance and poses! Ralph Lauren never disappoints with styling that is easily translatable to family portraits. These are good starting points. Pinterest is a great resource, as are magazines and catalogs. We are constantly pulling pages out when we see something that we like. Here are a couple recent pins that have us swooning! Three words; simple, timeless, effortless.

We would love to collaborate with you on this process and we are always trying to improve on the personalized service that we are proud to provide you with. Give us some feed back! What does your style say about you? Do you feel comfortable with styling your photo shoot? How can we best help you? Do you have any tips that have helped you in past photo shoots to get just the right look?
